Job Title: Rehabilitative Driving Evaluator & Trainer

Job Description:
- Conduct comprehensive driving evaluations to assess clients’ physical, cognitive, and visual abilities.
- Develop individualized driving training programs based on evaluation results and clients’ needs.
- Provide hands-on driving training and instruction, utilizing adaptive equipment and techniques as necessary.
- Monitor clients’ progress, adjusting training plans to address areas of difficulty and ensure continual improvement.
- Prepare reports documenting evaluation findings, training progress, and recommendations for licensing authorities or healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper communication.
- Educate clients and their families on adaptive driving techniques, safety measures, and vehicle modifications.
- Stay current with advancements in adaptive driving technology, rehabilitation techniques, and state driving regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points on driving record
- Certified Driver Rehab Specialist (CDRS) or willing to explore different credentialing
- Degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or related field preferred
- Desired understanding of adaptive driving equipment and vehicle modifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while conducting evaluations and training
- Ability to install/remove adaptive equipment as needed for clients
- Adequate vision and hearing to perform driving evaluations and training safely
