Limited Term License
A Limited Term License is the form of driver license issued to temporary residents in the United States that is valid for the duration of their stay. A temporary resident is a person who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident under U.S. immigration laws, but who does have legal presence in the country.
The State of Ohio requires applicants to receive certification from a licensed driving school before taking their Ohio BMV Road Exam. Bick's Limited Term License Program consists of 24 hours of online classroom training followed by 8 hours of behind the wheel training (4 Private Lessons, 2 Hours Each).
An Ohio Certificate of Completion will be issued by Bick's Driving School of Southwest Ohio directly to the student after their final driving lesson. In addition, applicants are required to provide a notarized 50-hour affidavit to the BMV prior to test for their license.
*If you currently hold an unexpired out of country license from Canada, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea or Taiwan, you are exempt from these requirements, and may obtain a Limited Term License by presenting your current license at the time of application.
Limited Term License, Class D Program - $849
1. Online 24 Hour Classroom Training (through EZ Drive Ohio)
- Start immediately after enrollment and complete at your own pace
- 24/7 course access (limit of 4 hours per day)
- Accessible on mobile phone, tablet, or computer with internet connection
- 10 Instructional Units
- Final exam requires a minimum passing score of 75%
- Certificate of Online Classroom Completion issued by EZ Drive Ohio
2. Eight Hour Behind the Wheel Training (with a Licensed Instructor)
High Demand Notice: Driving lessons are typically scheduling 8–12 weeks in advance.
- Four private lessons (2 hours each) may be scheduled once all required classroom training is complete
- Student is in the driver's seat of our car. Vehicles are state-inspected and equipped with an instructor brake and mirror
Before scheduling behind the wheel lessons with Bick's office staff, you must provide:
- Full $849 payment
- Signed digital contract
- Uploaded photo of valid temporary license (front side)
- Uploaded Certificate of Online Classroom Completion
After completing the final behind the wheel lesson, Bick's Driving School of Southwest Ohio will issue an Ohio Certificate of Completion, which will be emailed directly to the student. This certificate, along with a notarized 50 Hour Affidavit, is required to schedule a driving exam at ohiodrivingtest.com
