New Adult Drivers
Prior to testing for your first Ohio Driver's License, the State of Ohio does not require driver's training for those 21 and over; it is up to the individual to determine if they need any instruction.

Course Details
Valid Temporary License: Required prior to registration
Please call our office for appointment availability, and to Register, Pay, and Schedule lesson(s).
Duration of Lessons: You may choose to take a 1 or 2 hour lesson. Your instructor will evaluate your driving abilities, determine the appropriate lesson plan, and advise if further lessons are needed to reach your goals.
Schedule Lessons: Based on instructor availability Monday – Friday
Pricing: Adult Behind the Wheel Training is $95.00 an hour
Pick–Up / Drop Off: Bick's instructors will pick-up and drop off at home or work for your lessons within our service area for an additional $20.00 per lesson.
Note that if an adult does not pass their initial driving test, the state mandates an Adult Abbreviated Driving Course.
Ohio's Abbreviated Adult Program Requirements
If you are 21 and over and failed the maneuverability or road portion of the driving test, the state of Ohio requires you to complete the Abbreviated Adult Driver's Education program designed to get you ready to pass your driving test.
There are two options. Both require an Online 4 Hour Class, however the behind the wheel training requirements are different.
- FIRST OPTION
Online 4 Hour Classroom Training AND 24 Hours of driving supervised by a licensed driver 21 years or older. If you prefer this option, select a State Approved Online Driving School and complete their online course.
- SECOND OPTION
Online 4 Hour Classroom Training AND 4 Hours of Behind the Wheel Training (with a Licensed Instructor). To enroll in this option, see details below:
Abbreviated Adult 4 Hour Online Class & Behind the Wheel Program
Online 4 Hour Classroom Training (through EZ Drive Ohio)
- Start immediately after enrollment and complete at your own pace
- 24/7 course access (limit of 4 hours per day)
- Accessible on mobile phone, tablet, or computer with internet connection
- 10 instructional units covering:
- Final exam requires a minimum passing score of 75%
- Certificate of Online Classroom Completion issued by EZ Drive Ohio
Four Hour Behind the Wheel Training (with a Licensed Instructor)
High Demand Notice: Driving lessons are typically scheduling 8–12 weeks in advance.
- Two private lessons (2 hours each) may be scheduled once all required classroom training is complete
- Student is in the driver's seat of our car. Training vehicles are state-inspected and equipped with an instructor brake and mirror
Before scheduling behind the wheel lessons with Bick's office staff, you must provide:
- Full payment
- Signed digital contract
- Uploaded photo of valid temporary license (front side)
- Uploaded Online Certificate of Completion
After completing the final behind the wheel lesson, Bick's Driving School of Southwest Ohio will issue an Ohio Certificate of Completion, which will be emailed directly to the student. This certificate is required to schedule a driving exam at ohiodrivingtest.com
